Ever Smelled Dead Crickets . . . ?

By admin On August 6, 2010 No Comments

Did you ever hear the story about my kid’s pet gecko named Ace?

If not, you can read about Ace here at this link below.

http://www.hardtofindseminars.com/blog/stand-apart

After buying Ace, there was something we soon learned to be a real
pain in the ass.

And that was buying him crickets every three days.

To keep the bugger alive, I’d have to drive all the way to the
pet store.

Then, to take up more time, they make you walk to the very back of
the store where the crickets are.

Then the line . . .

And then, getting help . . .

The wait could be 20 minutes before you got out of the store.

You can’t stock up on crickets either.

Because they’ll die after a few days.

And they stink too.

Have you ever smelled dead crickets?

Anyway . . .

Wednesday morning is garbage day for the Senoff house.

Every Tuesday evening, I roll the trash cans out to the street
curb.

And when I pull the cans away from their resting place, I would see
crickets hopping around.

So . . .

I got to thinking . .

What the heck am I schlepping to the pet store and paying for
crickets when I can catch them my self and for free!

So now, at 8 PM ,for the last five weeks, my wife, my kids and I go
out to the front of the house to catch crickets.

And every time we’ve been able catch enough crickets for our scaly
friend.

The neighbors must think we’re nuts!

On one night, my wife was wearing a hooded sweat-shirt because she was cold.

Her head is bent down looking for crickets.

She’s holding a cup in her hand because once you see a cricket hopping, you cover it with the cup to catch it.

lots of the neighbors are walking their dogs, even at night.

My wife mumbles to a lady have you seed any crickets?

The lady must have not heard her because she says.

“I don’t have any money”

The lady thought my wife was begging for money.

This little cricket story is a metaphor for using what’s right
under your nose.

Like using the power of your own voice to do audio interviews.

Or.

Like using your expertise from your job to start selling consulting
services.

Or . .

Using a hobby you love to make a few bucks in a part time biz.

So here’s an interview that’ll illustrate this concept beautifully.

Just hop to

When Mike Samonek came up with an idea for a unique cookbook that
combined food with special effects (and included a recipe for
eating your own face), he didn’t even think about going to a
publisher with it.

He wanted to maintain complete control of the book, the marketing
and the profits.

So he went the self-publishing route – and sold 500,000 copies.

And in this interview you’ll hear how he did it.

You’ll learn how Mike came up with his idea, how he’s managed to get
free publicity and how he writes catchy press releases that scream
for media attention.

You’ll also get lessons on direct marketing, space advertising and
product selection.

In this interview you’ll learn . . .

* How to use a big red envelope and a black magic marker to get
more publicity than you may be able to handle

* How to cash in on the Baby Boomer market by knowing what kinds of
products they want right now

* How to write unforgettable press releases that get you noticed

You won’t want to miss Mike’s story.

It really shows just how profitable “thinking outside the box” can be.

PS. Crickets are hopping all around you this very moment.
You just need take some time, look a little closer, bend down and
simply pick them up.
