Daredevil . . .
Evel Knievel was an American motorcycle daredevil famous in the
United States between the late 1960s and early 1980s.
When I was ten I remember watching his amazing jumps on TV.
Jumps like the Caesars Palace Jump, the Snake River Canyon, the Wembley jump, the Kings Island jump and who can forget the Shark jump?
He was pure heart pounding, palm sweating excitement.
I would jump over tin garbage cans on my bike imagining I was him.
He was the king of cool and he was my childhood hero.
Knievel’s achievements, including his record 37 broken bones, earned him several entries in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Evel reminds me of a man I interviewed recently.
