Two Frogs . . .

Just saw a TV show on frogs of South America.

And it reminded me of this story.

A bunch of wild frogs were hopping through the South American jungle.

And two of them lost their way and fell into a deep pit filled with buttermilk.

When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.

The two frogs ignored their so called friends and began to drink the buttermilk.

They were thirsty and eventually lapped up every drop.

They both looked up and saw all their friends laughing and pointing.

And so the two bloated frogs tried to jump up and out of the pit.
 
With all their might they would jump.

And jump . .

And jump . .

And they could not get out.

Their friends up on the edge of the pit kept telling them to stop.
 
They said . . .

You’re as good as dead

You’ll never make it

You’re a looser

Finally, one of the frogs gave up.

He flipped to his back and died.

But the other frog kept on jumping.

And jumping

And jumping as hard as he could . . .

He could see his friends pointing and waving their little frog arms.

And so he jumped even harder.

And finally he got out.

Once out, the other frogs asked . . 

How did you get out?

And the frog explained that he was deaf.

He thought they were cheering him on the entire time.
