Hot Gina’s Secret . . .
Here’s a secret I learned from Gina, my most favorite waitress ever.

In 10th grade, I got a summer job at a rib place called Tony Roma’s Ribs.
They had the best friken onion rings in Atlanta.
Mitchell, my friend’s brother got me the job as a bus boy.
This was my first job working for real cash tips.
Tips came in at the end of the shift from each of the waitresses and the two downstairs bartenders.
The waitresses held the power because they decided how much in tips you got at the end of the shift.
And it didn’t take me long to figure out the amount of tips I got was proportionate to how much value I brought to the waitresses.
Gina was my bud.
She took me under her wing.
She showed me the ropes and the relationship between my tips and bussing her tables.
She explained to me . . .
“Michael, If you make my job easy by clearing my tables, you’ll get more tips.
If you fill water glasses for me, you get more tips.
If you have my warm bun baskets ready for me to take out to my tables, you’ll get more tips.
If you clear my tables fast, you get more tips.”
This way Gina worked less, turn over tables faster and made more during her shift.
Gina loved working with me.
I made her job easier, more enjoyable and more profitable.
And I was rewarded for my efforts too.
Much, much more than the average bus boy.
The other bus boys were working to get by, I was working to bring value to my Gina.
And what I took home at the end of the night, was my reward.
