Old Smokey Reveals The Real Secrets About Marketing

Over the weekend on Sunday, I went down to the San Diego Bay with
my two boys.

The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect and we had three
kites to test out.

There were lots of families and parties going on.

But there was one party that instantly caught my attention.

It was a big old BBQ party.

There was an old man dressed in all black smoking BBQ beef and pork
ribs.

You could smell the meat from a mile away.

I went up to the man in black and asked if his name was really Old
Smokey?

He answered… “Yes and among other things.”

I asked him what the optimal temperature is for smoking BBQ pork
ribs?

And he told me 250 degrees fahrenheit for 2 and 1/2 hours.

But this answer did not sound right to me.

I’ve had a smoker for 10 years and know that when smoking beef,
ribs or chicken, you want a lower temperature then 250.

So I changed my question and asked him this..

I said…”Old Smokey, if you were going to BBQ your family the best
BBQ ribs ever, how long and at what temperature would you smoke
them at?”

And this time his answer was different.

He said “I would smoke them all day long at 150 degrees.”

Bingo!

This was the REAL answer I was looking for.

It was Old Smokey’s Secret.

His secret to his very best BBQ.

He explained to me 2 and 1/2 hours was because the people needed to
eat at a certain time.

So he had no choice but to make sure the BBQ was ready.

Only when I changed my question, did I get Old Smokey’s Secret.
