The Goat Killer . . .

In 1998 he bought 160 acres.

It was in the country.

He built a home on his land just to get out of the city.

He yearned to enjoy the freedom of country living.

Soon, the entrepreneur in him cried . .

“I should find a way to make money off my land.”

So he looked into various options and decided to raise meat goats of all things.

He started out small and his business was doing well.

So he decided to expand.

He took out large loans from the bank, his family and friends to finance the goat operation.

He bragged to everyone, he was going to be rich.

But then, the goats started dying for no apparent reason.

He desperately searched for an answer.

He called in the nation’s best veterinarians, farmers and meat experts to discover what was killing the goats.

None of the experts had any answers.

Until the man’s nine year old son softly said . . .

” Dad, what about the hay? ”

The father was desperate for an answer.

What would he tell his friends and neighbors?

Reluctantly, he tested the years supply of hay.

And It turned out his son was right.

The hay was killing the goats.

By that time most of the herd had died.

He ended up selling what was left and had to pay the loans off with personal finances for many years to come.
