There are no secrets . .

Today for lunch I decided to grab a sandwich at the grocery store
across from my little office.

Recently, I was accosted by an energetic gray haired lady in front
of the grocery store telling me she liked my baseball cap.

She was trying to get me to stop and sign some kind of petition or
something.

You’ve seen these people.

I didn’t give her the time of day.

Held up my hand, bent my head down and walked right by.

Well this time was different.

After I finished my sandwich I went up to her and asked her what
she was doing.

She proceeded to tell me she wanted my signature for a
petition for something having to do with the California state
electricity tax.

I signed the petition and asked her this question . . .

Out of all the people you approach coming in and out of the grocery
store, what one technique works best to get people to stop more
than any other?

And she replied emphatically and said absolutely none.

She asked me if I knew who Tiger Woods was.

I said I did.

And she told me that she is like Tiger Woods.

She has perseverance and passion.

She said with this, you can get anything you want in life.

She told me there is no easy way to get anyone person to stop.

She told me anything you do in life, if you’re passionate and
you’re persistent, you’ll get what you want.

It wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear but after reflecting on it,
it rang so true.

There are no secrets . .
But if you are willing to work, willing to sweat and willing to
fail, you can make it doing your thing.
