Two Dads Story . . .

It’s about 4:00 PM as I write this and I have a ton of work to do.

But I got a call from my two sons because the Soda Stream Box just

They’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for it to come.

And it’s hear now.

And they need Dad to come home NOW and open the box and put it
together.

This is a story about two Dads.

One we’ll call “THIS DAD”

8:30 pm Sunday night.

THIS DAD falls asleep next to his seven year old son because son
was afraid of aliens.

THAT DAD falls asleep in the Holiday Inn Motel because he’s on
another week long business trip.

7:00 AM Monday morning

THIS DAD in bed. The sheets are soft and his wife and two boys are
snuggled together watching morning cartoons.

THAT DAD, awoken by highway traffic. Must get dressed ( coat and
tie ). Important company meeting – layoffs pending )

7:40 AM

THIS DAD making homemade chocolate chip biscuits. Nothing like
breakfast with
the boys.

THAT DAD.  Making motel room coffee. Must hurry – late for meeting.

8:30 AM

THIS DAD takes kids to school, greets teachers and kisses goodbye.

THAT DAD in meeting about territory changes and pending layoffs.

9:00 AM

THIS DAD goes running.

THAT DAD still sitting in meetings.

11:00 AM

THIS DAD checks e-mail, processes online orders from home office.

THAT DAD still in meetings

12:30 PM

THIS DAD takes 20 minute power-nap before lunch.

THAT DAD grabs Big Mac, Cherry Coke and fries as he drive to a first
sales call.

3:45 PM

THIS DAD pick kids up from school and then tennis lessons at 4 PM

THAT DAD calls home. Kids acting out again. Must prepare
performance report before dinner with boss.

5:30 PM

THIS DAD home from tennis to BBQ chicken dinner.

THAT DAD dinner with boss reviewing sales figures.

7:00 PM

THIS DAD does homework with kids and gets kids bathed and ready for
bed.

THAT DAD calls home and kids are already sleeping. Dad tells wife
“Flight delayed, I’ll be home late Friday night.”
